ArcGenerations is a private family-tree and family-community web application operated by AR Consulting Pros LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information we collect from people who use ArcGenerations, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google or Facebook) the basic profile information those services provide - your name, email, and profile picture. We do not receive your password from Google or Facebook, and we never see or store your Google or Facebook password.
Profile information you choose to add. Bio, job title, employer, city, hometown, a personal website link, social media handles, and a profile photo. All of this is optional and editable by you at any time.
Family tree information. Names, birth dates, death dates, gender, maiden names, nicknames, photos, and the relationships between people that you or other family members enter into the shared family tree. Because a family tree inherently involves information about people other than the account holder, some of this data may be entered by a relative on someone else's behalf (for example, an admin adding a deceased grandparent, or a parent adding a young child). People added this way can later "claim" their own entry and take control of their own information once they create an account.
Content you post. Community posts, group posts, comments, photos, marketplace listings, calendar events, memories/stories, skills, and recommendations that you choose to share within the app.
DNA and ancestry information. If you choose to enter DNA test results (for example, an ethnicity breakdown from AncestryDNA or 23andMe), this is entirely self-reported by you. We do not perform DNA analysis, do not receive raw genetic data, and do not calculate ethnicity ourselves.
Location. If you allow it, your browser's geolocation is used client-side to show local weather on your dashboard. We do not store this location on our servers.
Technical information. Standard web log data such as IP address, browser type, and access times, collected automatically by our hosting and database infrastructure.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to serve third-party advertising.
ArcGenerations is not a public website. Content is only visible to other users who have created an account and been approved by an administrator. Within the app, you can set your profile to "private," which limits what other members see to your name and a single photo unless you're connected with them. Administrators can view account status and moderate reported content, but do not have blanket access to private messages or private-marked profiles beyond what's needed to review a specific report.
We use the following service providers to operate ArcGenerations. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service to us:
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time - see our Data Deletion instructions for how. Because family tree data is inherently shared and collaborative, deleting your account will remove your personal account and content you created, but a tree "person" record that other relatives depend on for their own family history may be retained in de-identified or claimed form rather than deleted outright, to preserve the accuracy of the shared tree for other family members. We're happy to discuss specifics if you contact us.
ArcGenerations is intended for use by adults managing family tree and family community information. Children may appear as entries in a family tree added by a parent or guardian, but we do not knowingly collect account information directly from children, and children do not create their own accounts.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Most of this you can already do yourself within the app (editing your profile, deleting your own posts/listings/memories). For anything else, contact us using the information below.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify active users within the app.
